  11. I had similar problems with NNTP news. Also, the system hung when
  12. I tried to post an article.

  14. It later turned out to be our local news server that was tired.
  15. Later on, our network administrators updated the sofware on
  16. the server. Now it works great. Contact your your news-server
  17. administrator and tell him about your problems. Maybe they had 
  18. similar comments from other users.

  41. I wonder if any of you are able to throw light on a problem I have with my 
  42. winsock setup:

  44. All the servers/daemons I have tried works fine once and just once, ie. first 
  45. connection from the outside world works then the sever hangs.
  46.  
  47. This has happened with:
  48. serweb3
  49. go4ham
  50. wsfngrd
  51. lptd
  52. and a couple of others that I have forgotten what were called.
  53.  
  54. My setup.
  55. pc-nfs 5.0 talking ndis.
  56. all  patches I have been able to lay my hands on (e.g. DNS works with my 
  57. setup)
  58.  
  59. Any ideas?

  80. I've been reading this group for a couple of weeks now, and want
  81. to start trying this stuff out on my 486 at home.  I've downloaded
  82. a few files (Trumpet, Xwin) but I'm not sure where to go from here.
  83. Is there some sort of FAQ that puts this whole procedure together,
  84. and explains the different ways to get there?  My first question
  85. is there a program that will to ppp instead of slip (which is what
  86. Trumpet want to do (I think!))
